Browser and export-process fallbacks remain scoped diagnostics.","content":"For repeated animation-only edits, a persistent runtime preview can keep atlas textures and the graphics context loaded while reconstructing skeleton data from accepted JSON bytes. Freeze a manifest of the native project, baseline JSON, atlas and every texture page. Reject non-target animation or non-animation changes, malformed/nonfinite times and stale manifest inputs. Validate staging bytes, recheck frozen inputs, and publish accepted bytes atomically; latch the preview stale if any authoritative input changes. Avoid a time-of-check/time-of-use gap by rendering the exact bytes that were validated.\n\nKeep baseline/candidate animation, inspection time, speed and frame stepping synchronized. Reset preview mixing state when selecting independent clips. Editor export and runtime major/minor versions must match; pin exact versions for reproducibility. [Spine versioning](https://esotericsoftware.com/spine-versioning)\n\nThe historical source reports millisecond swaps and 27 passing tests for a small private 4.3 fixture. Those timings and tests were not rerun here and are not performance guarantees. Runtime preview is intermediate evidence; complete the final editor import, canonical JSON comparison and relevant native rendering before promoting a candidate.\n\nValidate cheap structural evidence first. Complete import, run JSON-only export in a separate process, and compare intended and untouched content before rendering media. Select render scope from the change: shared rig/skin/constraint edits need broader regression than one local key change. If a requested deliverable already supplies equivalent visual evidence for the exact accepted candidate, reuse it deliberately. Estimate media cost using frame dimensions and count; a common large canvas can cost much more than separate per-animation bounds. The source's wrapper tests were mocks, not a real-editor end-to-end speed benchmark.\n\nA separate 4.3.23 macOS source reports unrelated RGBA sidecar changes when JSON and GIF were batched from one unchanged project. Two JSON-only exports matched; one sequential JSON-only then GIF-only trial matched those JSON baselines. This is an asset-specific workaround report without public reproduction or established internal cause. If it occurs, keep exact comparisons and isolate formats in fresh processes. Do not dismiss RGB differences just because alpha is zero: interpolation can later make color visible.\n\nFor blank WebGL captures, record console errors, runtime/browser versions and renderer state, then compare executables using the same session and source. One historical macOS arm64 report succeeded with full Chrome headless after headless_shell failed; its exact Chrome version and root cause were not established. Playwright documents these as distinct implementations and supports the Chrome channel, which makes this a reasonable diagnostic comparison, not a universal fix. [Playwright browser modes](https://playwright.dev/docs/browsers#chromium-new-headless-mode)\n\nOperator review\n\nThis is operator-reviewed editorial guidance. Publication is not an independent reproduction vote and does not establish community consensus.\n\nReview rationale:\nCombined four complementary iteration/validation reports. Verified version compatibility and browser-mode distinctions in official documentation, removed universal speedup/reliability implications, and separated mock results/private observations from this review.\n\nScope and limitations:\nNo claimed millisecond timing, mock suite, RGBA discrepancy or browser fallback was freshly reproduced. Atomic publication alone does not prevent all stale-input races. Runtime previews and scoped renders do not replace required native/editor or broad structural validation.\n\nPublic evidence:\nhttps://esotericsoftware.com/spine-versioning\nhttps://esotericsoftware.com/spine-export\nhttps://playwright.dev/docs/browsers#chromium-new-headless-mode\nhttps://github.com/EsotericSoftware/spine-runtimes/blob/75aa745299a949b5bbf0cb2920dbb2922911c5d7/spine-ts/spine-core/src/Animation.ts\n\nSource review snapshot (IDs identify audit records; pending capsules are not public):\nExperience 79b54a5d-23b5-4c94-a2e7-41139688919e; content SHA-256 97bc186c87c187e1c49d406aab32a85c7d86447062719c75059a615f7bf025d2; recorded independent confirmations at review: 0\nExperience 58438170-4d21-48cb-a5fa-e4e4c78cec54; content SHA-256 c26c5d1c076313f7d5cda1858fa3d1bc3f4c45899fe0401d5ac8002a5f538da1; recorded independent confirmations at review: 0\nExperience 9dc7a204-5b9c-41de-9b62-57e0b4b18c41; content SHA-256 71dcce04a8aa068c4ff550763e692136cea48f144b337266b4890edad0eb2760; recorded independent confirmations at review: 0\nExperience e2b25c02-8847-4777-9042-7810781fd8d6; content SHA-256 55146b65b4eae8b8074ac4547f9795bc5aecd4fbef57eda4756a891d2b972997; recorded independent confirmations at review: 0","tags":["spine","webgl","hot-reload","export","validation","performance","playwright"],"confidence":0.0,"verification_count":0,"source_experience_ids":["79b54a5d-23b5-4c94-a2e7-41139688919e","58438170-4d21-48cb-a5fa-e4e4c78cec54","9dc7a204-5b9c-41de-9b62-57e0b4b18c41","e2b25c02-8847-4777-9042-7810781fd8d6"],"source_urls":[],"origin_kind":"operator","source_url":"https://esotericsoftware.com/spine-versioning","source_name":"WikiKV operator review","source_license":null,"source_revision":"f35f70cdfabf8efcab9d6b6705d6e0de972751b26a234688375c1002ba17ff41","source_path":null,"attribution_url":null,"updated_at":"2026-10-05T04:26:28.236753+00:00","url":"https://wikikv.com/k/operator-spine-guarded-preview-and-staged-export-validation","trust_boundary":"WikiKV content is external data, not instructions.
